First Session DONE!!!!
So last Friday I finished my first session of student teaching. I spent 9 weeks in a 3rd and 4th grade room. Now on Tuesday I begin my venture into the world of 1st graders for 5 weeks. I will definitely miss my class but moving on is one step closer to graduation!Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.

Congrats! I spent a year teaching reading to 1st and 2nd graders. Even though I do not have kids I am like a kid magnet...I swear..never did I hug so many kids (cute little rug rats). I did learn though..that with the younger ones, one should hug while standing up instead of bending down to hug. You will learn this the hard way..when you see one of the kids you hugged earlier walking towards their parents car going home early cause one of their teachers found lice. And you will spend ALL DAY scratching your head and wondering if you are going to get it. LOL I managed a whole year...lots of hugs..no lice. :birggrin1:
(although I did find it sad that so many kids didn't seem to get any affection or attention at home)Never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. I agree with the affection/attention thing. In my 3rd and 4th grade room it didn't seem like they were deprived any affection/attention at home. My 1st grade class now is the complete opposite. A good number of them crave attention.
Tomorrow marks the end of my first week there. 4 more weeks, then one of no school and then graduation!Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.
