Margaritas.
Went to a Mexican restaurant last week and ordered a margarita.

I stopped smoking and drinking when in the military, but margaritas have always tempted me. Waching customers slug them down, then smacking their lips and ordering another pitcher full didn't help matters.
I couldn't take any more of it, so I called the waitress over and ordered one. When she brought it to the table she winked and said something in Spanish, then prissied away.
Instead of sipping it, I took a big swig and it slid down my throat so fast I couldn't spit it out or holler.
I'm telling you, I've tasted some bad stuff in my time, but nothing worse than this.
It tasted like a mixture of rubbing alcohol and gasoline and I'm shuddering now thinking about it.
I don't know what the waitress said when she smiled and winked, but she may have tried to poison me,
as I think I heard her say something like adios in her comment, which most everyone knows means goodbye or fairwell.

I think Margarita's are nasty. Definitely an acquired taste to me.

Sweetly sour, and tart, with the kick of the tequila when it's mixed just right. The salt adds something very nice. And yeah, you either love them or hate them.

tequila is a tasty treat but it is an aquired taste. I like Patron Silver! Usually a shot and that is about it and then off to beer, mainly micro brews

A well made margarita is pretty refreshing, not something to try to get drunk on though.

I good Marg can really hit the spot, but most places use cheap mixers these days - or cheap tequila.

LOL... There's nothing wrong with a little booze if someone likes the taste of it. Some of my best friends are heavy drinkers and alcoholics. If I liked the taste and flavor of the margarita I had the other night I'd probably have one or two every time I went to a Mexican restaurant, which would be 2-3 times a month. Tacos, burritas, enchiladas, tortillas, quacamole, Etc. are some of my favorite foods.
To be sociable, I drank some in the military with my buddies, women, et al, but never liked the taste of beer, wine, whiskey, gin, champaign or any of it, so I quit drinking.
I couldn't see the point in spending my hard earned military pay on something I didn't like.
Now smoking Cigs is a different story. I was smoking 3-4 packs a day in the military. Was coughing, wheezing, getting short of breath and it was effecting me in my physical activities. I quit smoking, cold turkey, on my 21st. birthday and haven't taken another puff since.

As Hannibal can attest to, I have serious problems putting fruity stuff in my tequila.

Not a big margaritta fan, but if I have one I'd rather it be on the rocks without salt.

I enjoy a nice cold margarita every once in a while. I can only have a couple of them though then I get bored and need something different...
