HELP! With parking enforcement
Do any of your agencies use electronic systems to monitor and control parking? I am talking about handheld systems that electronically "chalk" a vehicle for time limit parking. If your agency does, can you give me contact info for the person in charge. I would greatly appreciate it.

We used to. But I just had a court case where the judge found a person not guilty for a parking infraction because we "rely on the technology" not on independant recollection. But she said that she would rule the same if we used chalk unless we could say for certain that the vehicle was in the exact same spot! We mark on average of 150-200 cars on one parking round. There is no way that someone can remember the exact location of each one!

Well, I don't do a lot of parking enforcement, unless it snows. Then I have to go around tagging and towing cars all night.
