Old Country vs. New Country
OK, so I'm an old fart. I'm sitting here listening to music, and after I played a Collective Soul CD, I went to Hank Williams Sr. When I was a kid, back in the '60s, Country music was Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, etc. Do you prefer "real" country music, or modern country music?

Both, but then again, I listen to anything. I like just about all types of music, it is just particular songs I don't like.

Since I started listening to country in the 90's, I'd have to say "new" country. Other than the random Alabama, Johnny Cash, or Charlie Daniels classic tune, I'm not a huge fan of classic country.

As far as the Country genre goes, I will listen to just about anything from the classics such as you mentioned to todays sound. Although I get a bit more selective as the music gets newer.

I absolutely love Johnny Cash. Willie Nelson is good too at times, but other then that I really don't listen to much classic country. If i listen to country its usually George Strait, Gary Allan, Toby Keith and Cash. However, Metal-core is my favorite genre...

I gotta go with all George Strait here. I have a major love obsession with him. I do like some of the new country music. I don't really care for the older music like what you're talking bout.

I like it all. I can go from Kid Rock, to Tu Pac, to Kenny Chesney, to Johnny Cash and Hank within 20 minutes on my MP3 player.
