It Is Time For The Prom
These are a little old, but I was reminded of them when I watched CNN report about a young lady who was not allowed to attend her prom because of her dress. How about you? Did you dress up like this for your prom?

OMG, those pics are sadly hilarious and repulsive at the same time!! I just saw the CNN report on that other girl you mentioned. It never ceases to amaze me what both kids and parents (figuratively speaking) seem to think is appropriate attire!!
The true measure of your character is what you choose to do when you think no one is looking.

I'm curious; can someone give a link to the CNN article?
I could find one about a gal in a Confederate flag dress, and several that were banned for being to revealing.
As for most of the attire in the link that Papabear posted... All I can say is that I'll be trying to consume enough booze to kill the brain cells where those memories reside!Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

Not to be racist... but damn.
I know, I'm sure that white kids do that same thing.

This appears to have taken place in Baltimore. I read the whole thread on the post link that PapaBear posted. I was gratified to see that there were many posters on that message board who absolutely abhorred and condemned that type of attire, and placed the blame solely on who was responsible. The previous generations. Many are way too quick to blame the school system, law enforcement, etc, for the way their kids turned out. Those people have no one to blame but themselves. Kids raising kids. I am glad that there are some people in the inner cities recognize the problem and have chosen to be parents to their children instead of trying to be their friends. I just wish that society as a whole would step up to the plate and change this behavior but that will probably never happen. This isn't just a racial problem, it is everywhere.
I was born in Los Angeles, specifically Inglewood in the mid '60's. I also lived in Carson and Torrance until '72 when my parents moved out of there north to the lush farmland of the Central Valley. I have been told that those cities and surrounding areas have drastically changed for the worse since I was there some 30 to 40 years ago. Is it really as bad as they say? Those of you who are familiar with Los Angeles should know what I am talking about. Help me out here.
Now excuse me while I try to erase the images of the pimp daddies and the hoochie mamas that seem to be permanently etched in my mind.

OMG that was some seriously funny sh*t
http://www.allpoetry.com/Grunts%20Girl
We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

I understand the dress part but it's not OK to take your prom date to the Krystal? (Krystal = White Castle down here)

Here is a link to the KHOU (Houston, TX) video. It is pretty much the same as the CNN report. Just listen to the words this girl speaks.
