Charlie Moon Mysteries
I have a new favorite detective/mystery series author named James Doss. I read one of his newest called Stone Butterfly, and have been trying to pick up all the previous works.
Charlie Moon is a Ute, and a police officer on the rez in Colorado. His best friend is Chief of Police in a nearby college town. Charlie's aunt is Daisy Perika...shaman, and mean ole lady.
I have read almost all of them now, and I have laughed out loud at some point during each one - the characters are so vivid, and down to earth. The plot-lines take some twists and turns, the mystical qualities of Daisy's spirit world connections keep you guessing, and there is real "detective" work as well.
You will be kept guessing until the very end!
I think if you are a Tony Hillerman fan, you might enjoy the Charlie Moon books.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.
