geesh!!!

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

Tornadoes suck!
Like I told you earlier though, storms are plentiful here.

I've been through blizzards and hurricanes, but never a tornado. I am now in a tornado area and it makes me very nervous. Every Wed. at noon they test the emergency tornado alarm, scares me spitless for a few seconds before I realize what day and time it is
My dad, I miss him every day.

Prayers to the familes N friends of all involved in such devastation!!
I have survived more hurricanes than I care to count, including TWO what were called "once in a 100 yr storms" ( and NO I am not that
old)...2 weeks ago, we had some tornado like weather......I considered it a test drive for hurricane prep...our katrina generators worked fine...Thank God!!!
A Canadian friend pointed out to me the other day how irratic US weather is
....all she has is snow...30 R 40 feet of it..but just snow....
I have learned no matter where you live....be prepared......you can count
on it here from June- October Hurricane season in LA... first aid kit, 2-3 weeks supply of meds at all times, cash on hand, flashlights and radio ready, cars tank topped off all the time, generators, gasoline supply, canned food and lotsa bottled water... and text mesg feature on mobile phones....all the things we didnt have and could not get during the weeks that followed katrina.....
Good luck to all in areas of tornados and hurricanes this summer....stay safe! Be prepared!!
