Need help here
My daughter and her Idiot are looking at buying a 2004 Yukon
with a V-8,
,with 131,000 miles

,from a New Orleans(read metro city) dealership

.
With fuel at $3.90 here right now,and we all know it aint goin down,
,anyone give me some stats on mpg,I want real stats from people ,not that paplum the dealership/manufacturer would have you believe.
"You can get 35 mpg,of course that is downhill, with a 70 mph tailwind,on a smooth highway ,with the ignition off, watch the steering and brakes ,they get squirrley when you do this".
.
Any input will be appreciated.
WHOOPS,meant to put this in general as I would like all input,CB?????lewis?????? help a brother out here, someone please move it,Hey how about that Ms. mafioso,CID?????

Sure, you can get 35mpg, coasting.
I don't know about the Yukon, but my Dodge truck is rated at 18 hwy, 16 city. That said I do about 25 highway, but only 14 in the city. It's all in how you drive, but 35mpg just aint happenin. Especially on a ride with that many miles."Like" us on facebook! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Offic...93147194083228

I've got a V-6 blazer, (much smaller than a Yukon) and I get 14mpg driving downhill. Most of the time it's 12-13.

Owned the damn truck a year and a half before I knew I had one.

I have a straight 6 powered Trailblazer, and get about 15 mpg.
Same shape, smaller overall profile.I'm your huckleberry...

My brother has a Tahoe same thing really, and he averages 13-14 mpg. We did a trip up north in it all highway and he got 17 then. Plus with that kind of mileage she is really asking for trouble...

I have a 2003 Yukon, 5.3 V8. On the highway, keeping my speed to 70-72, I get 17 mpg. If I stay on two lane roads, 60-62 mph, I run 18 mpg. Pulling a 4,000 lb boat and trailer at 65, 13 mpg. Driving in city traffic, no idea as I avoid cities whenever possible. Driving around town running errands, 15 is about average.
It's a wonderful vehicle for pulling a trailer, hauling tools or four full-size adults. When I'm not doing any of the above, it stays parked and we use my wife's Subaru.Anything posted here does not represent the opinion of any agency anywhere ever.
