HOLY CRAP!
HOLY CRAP, the rain just keeps coming! The river's about 50 feet from my back door, and it keeps getting closer. I can't get to work because the roads are flooded and closed down. My daughter is stuck at work about 10 miles away. This just plain sucks big time!
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

Wish I could take some of that rain off your hands! Scary stuff with the river rising - I don't envy that part of it. Hope your place makes out okay!

Do you think you will have to evacuate or anything?

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

The rain has stopped and we were lucky that we didn't get flooded out. There are a few neighborhoods in the city that had to be evacuated, and Oshkosh was hit very hard. The local Hi Way, 41, was under 6 to 8 feet of water in spots. If we can go a few days without any more rain, we should do OK. I have a flock of ducks swimming in my backyard, and the river is about 2 inches below the 6 foot retaining wall next to my yard. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Thank goodness the rains have stopped! I hope the weather stays clear for a while so every thing can dry out and the river can recede.
Hopefully your daughter made it home and you don't have too much to clean up.

Good luck Keith, and at least you can get some target practice in with the ducks and have dinner too, lol

I thought we all were gonna die yesterday at work. I was saying my goodbye's to everyone. Thought for sure a tornado was gonna suck me up. We're finally getting "pools" in the lower parts of town. Nothing major like what i've seen up by Shoestring though... and the dells. The DUCKS were out in the dells doing rescues or something, did u hear that keith? baumshoe? shoe?
May you rest in peace Daddy and may you never hurt again. I love you and miss you and can't wait to see you again.

Yep, Baumshoe and I were called in on Monday, I was lucky and got boat patrol with DNR to clear anything from the lake that was floating so it would not clog the dam. Many roads still closed, I cant believe how much of the interstates are closed.
You always see this stuff happen somewhere else but when it happens at home it changes everything. I pray for all!Somebody Please, what the hell is that smell?

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers from everyone. I am so thankful that I've escaped nature's wraith, and my heart goes out to those who were hit so hard.
