Vacation
Where's everyone going on vacation?
Where's your favorite place to go that you've been back to time and again?
How long do you usually go for?
I just recently went to Tennessee to see family and lately that's been how it goes. If I don't go down south, I head down the shore. My boyfriend and I are going away for a few days in July and I don't know if I want to come back.
Going anywhere with him makes my happy and content. I just wish we could go away longer.
Sooooo, spill it! Where are you going? And who wins - you or your kids?!

I'm doing a 4 day glacier hike in New Zealand in about 8 weeks. Family holiday, but I'm peeling off for a few days. Should be good.
Our last break was to the theme parks on the gold coast..kid and wife win as a general rule"Contrary to popular belief, you will not rise to the occasion, but will fall to the level of your training"

My favorite vacation was Europe. I went to France, Germany, Luxemburg, and London. I enjoyed the Beaches of Normandy the most. I took my son for his graduation present. He is a big WWII buff. So I had my own little tour guide. This summer is it back to NY to see family.

We haven't gone on vacation since having our two little ones. Was just too tough. Now they are going to be 7 and 6......so we have been talking about planning something. We did decide to go to Vegas next month just to get away, swim in Hotel room, and let the kids ride roller coasters and such. We are also talking about taking another cruise, with the kids this time.

So far my favorite vacation has been a Hawaiian cruise last year. I like going to the Florida Keys or anywhere that I can find warmth and sunshine in the winter. I just returned from Disneyland and will be going to Georgia (for a family reunion) and Arizona for vacations later this year. I'm not sure where else besides home to MI.

If it had not been for the flying my best trip would have been to Europe. The flying had me screwed up a while. We saw Luxemburg, France, The Bavarian Alps, Rome, Amsterdam, Brussles, and Beligum. It was an awesome once in a lifetime trip.
I am not a beach person. I prefer the mountains and cold weather but I throughly enjoyed our cruise to the Bahamas. There was nothing about that trip I didn't like. I will definately be going back there.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

I love St. Thomas. Eventually I want to retire there, underneath the sun, on a beach, or snorkling.
Been there a few times. The best thing to do is to rent a villa. Get away from the tourist hotels and get to the other side of the island and live it up with your own private pool, jacuzzi and home. Here are a couple of pics.

Wont be going this year... had to replace my roof, which cost me $9200. But next year we will be going back again. When I vacation, I want to be on my own, away from the tourist traps, and enjoying the areas that the locals like.

Just came back from a Memorial Day weekend in York Maine with the neighbors. (A few weeks ago).
York Wild Kingdom (zoo) was awesome. All the rides at the amusement park were great. Beach was amazing. Hotel and sauna were great.
We did a week cruise in the Carribean which was outstanding.

Going back to Germany for a month in July. We are taking one of my 13 yo Grandson with us. It is his first trip out of the US and I know he will be worth his while and enjoy it. The only down side is that darn pesky Euro. Last fall (Sept-Oct) when we went to Italy, Greece, Turkey. I thought the exchange rate was bad - but it has gotten worse. Oh well, my contribution to our Foreigh Aid. Ha

I'm going on a three day motorcycle trip to the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee this weekend.
My favorite trips were Hawaii, January 2000, and an Eastern Caribbean Cruise June 2006.
