WOW...that is crazy. Glad I don't have kids or a spouse with that kind of out of pocket expenses. How the heck are you supposed to pay that on a cop salary?????

I am not sure what our plans cost, the city pays for it, the union picks up dental, eye exams/glasses and prescription. The city has many employees and a few health plans to offer, the basic ones has minimal monthly fees, mostly for a high option rider. (The higher end plans can cost several hundred dollars a month) Coverage is for the employed and the family.
Are those state wide rates. They sound very high, does not seem like they are group rates, part of a larger company or agency. (The larger the company or agency the lower the rates)
Heath care is so expensive but you can not do with out it. (although there are plenty who do not have it and are well cared for, on the taxpayers dime)

Before I left the Sheriff's Dept our insurance co-pay was 80/20 We paid the 80% the insurance picked up the 20% after the deductible was paid. I forget what the deductible was cause it had just gone up in October and I left in November.
My dad, I miss him every day.

He's going to be too busy working extra details to pay for his insurance to have a liaison.
