XM and Sirius merged and the merger is currently working its way through the Justice Department. I'd probably hold off for now until it's completed.

I have Sirius and like it very well. I just listen to three or four channels none of that Howard Stern shit. It does have NASCAR which XM doesn't.

I have sirius, and sell XM. I picked Sirius because of the NFL games that XM doesnt have. They will be merging soon. The idea is if you like your current line up you would not have to change it or pay extra. Otherwise it will be ala carte.
500 fights, that's the number I figured when I was a kid. 500 street fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate tough guy. You need them for experience. To develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then, after, you realize that's what you are.

I have sirius in my truck, and a portable XM unit the I got for Christmas a few years back. They both have their good points, but I prefer sirius due to the music lineup and better talk and news radio. I get into the comedy talk radio and love XM for Opie and Anthony over Howard Stern, and Bubba the Lovesponge on sirius in the afternoon over XM's afternoon show.

SIRIUS for four years now.
Several reasons. I have the radio channels on the Dish Network, so I get them in the house that way. In the car(work) I went with Sirius because of the specialty channels- I just liked the channels better over XM
(mostly 230- hair nation
) and 31 Radio Margaritaville. I'm a huge Parrothead, so it was a decision swayer when they announced they were adding that.
Big thing is if you like certain artists: Stones, Who, Buffett, grateful Dead, etc they all have their own channel, so that is pretty cool. There are only two kinds of real justice left: street and poetic...
Canada, huh? Almost made it...

I've had XM for 3 years now. I initially was a major skeptic -- "Who would actually PAY to listen to radio???" Then when the truck I bought came with an introductory subscription, I fell in love with it, LOL! I mostly listen to the '80's channel.

I've got a lifetime subscription for sirius. I can't listen to regular FM radio anymore.

I'm looking at both and I'm a huge baseball fan and I love that XM offers the MLB games. I think that might be my selling point, haha.

I have XM in my unit and the wife has Sirius in her Jeep Commander, since it came free for a year when she purchased the vehicle. I like my XM better, but as stated previous I guess they merged, so we will see what happens.

Well that is the XM radio I just bought off of Amazon. I got free shipping and with the $30 rebate I figured it looked like a good deal. So we'll see. Thanks everyone for the advice!

The merger will no effect on the subscriptions either way!
I have had both over the last 5 years and I personally prefer Sirius. I like the music line-up a whole lot better.
As said, both have their selling points. Buy the XM now if you are looking for baseball and then when the merger is finished, they are going to make a unit that can carry both the XM and Sirius line-ups so you can buy another unit then. The units are fairly cheap so that is no big deal! Either way, you can't loose because there are no channels on FM that can even hold a candle to satelite radio!I'm ready for spring!

Rep sent!!!
When I was looking into the two, I was told that sports was the primary difference. NFL w/ Sirius and MLB w/ XM. Other than that there are not many significant differences. I have been very happy with XM. Being able to drive anywhere and not loose a signal is great. Plus crossing some areas, in the midwest specifically, all you get on the radio is Country.
I like being able to avoid that honkey tonk, twanging, wife-leaving, dog-dying, truck-crashing, tractor tippin BS.
I'm not ruining your life, you are, and I'm just going to write a short story about it.
