Board Games
Do any of you have family game night at home?? What is your favorite board game?? We try and do it weekly. Kids just love it! Today I bought dominoe's and Scrabble. I love Scrabble and first time I have owned the game. Another one of our favorites is Blokus and Pictureka! We have cabinets full of games......

When I was growing up, if you brought a board game into the house my mom would shoot you. She hated them. Thus I have been scarred for life.
There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

Trivial Pursuit here. I am the champion of facts that are useless unless watching Jeopardy! or playing Trivial Pursuit.
Sometimes I even piss people off with the random stuff I know. My ex g/f did NOT like playing against me. Then again, she had an "I'm smarter than everyone, every time," kinda complex. Same reason she wouldn't play chess with me

We don't really have a "family" night, but we do like to break out the board games.
Scrabble, Clue, Yatzee, Masterpiece, Uno and Michigan Rummy...to name a few.
With my friends....Trivial Pursuit, and Pictionary...Taboo is fun too.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

When my kids were home, I loved to play "Monopoly." I still like to play "Trouble." When my Mom had cancer and I was in High School, we used to play that all of the time, so I relate it to good times I had with her. Like Ender, I love to play "Trivial Pursuit" as I also know a lot of useless facts!

Chess is truly a game you can learn in an hour, and take a lifetime to master. The rules are pretty simple.
The history of the game is pretty amazing also... for instance, in the Middle East there is no Queen in chess...because women should never have power of any sort--the Queen is replaced by some high ranking army type guy, iirc. Bishops, which can move along diagonals any number of spaces, used to only be able to move 3 spaces at a time, and could not 'jump' pieces, only capture on the 3 space mark...etc etc)
VERY cool game. I played a buddy tonight. He won the first game, where I was up a LOT piece wise, after I made ONE stupid move. I spanked him in the second game, and the 3rd game I was up quite a bit in both position and pieces, made one stupid move, and triumphantly stalemated the game at the end.....hmph

When we were younger..Monopoly. We would set up a game and play it for days at a time. Got really nasty too.
But it was a lot of fun.
As an adult..Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary are my favs. My sister and I used to also play a lot of chess...but we haven't played in a long time (probably because she lives 3000 miles away..but I am trying to fix that!)

I'm the same boat with Ender on Trivial Pursuit. People also hate watching Jeopardy with me.

I tend to play the games that offer insight into your friends' psyches. Outburst, etc.\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\
