What's the biggest decision you've had to make?
What's the biggest decision you've had to make and after making that decision was it the right or wrong one.
I've had one or two pretty big decisions to make. I think the biggest one was put to me when I went to NYC to enlist in the military. After passing the physical and at the point of being sworn in, the enlistment officer asked me, what branch of the service do you want to join, the navy or the marines, take your pick? Being a teenager and thinking about the fancy dress uniform, Etc. I started to stammer Ma, mah, ree, ree, ah, ah... then for some reason caught myself and said Navy. It's a good thing I made the right decision or I probably wouldn't be here today.

Leaving my old career (journalism) which I was very good at and moving from Texas to Ohio with my girlfriend (now my wife) so she could continue to climb the career ladder. I went up there with no job and no prospects...just knew I wanted to be with her more than I wanted to keep my job and be alone! It was there I decided to become a cop (so I guess two decisions folded into one situation).

First big decision was to get married. Second big decision was to get divorced. Do I regret either decision? Yea, sometimes I do.

I've had a few life changing decisions to make. I have no regrets of any that I have made. Each have had negative and positive sides, but I try not to dwell on the negatives. Just go forward and face the next decision.
My dad, I miss him every day.

The force that propels you to prevail when you are put to a test of survival will be a mindset that refuses to accept nothing but winning.
Too often, we lose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to reach out and bitch slap that motherf*cker upside the head.

He needed to know what it meant to stand by ones principles. It was something he did not think I would do. He now stands by what he believes in, whatever his circumstances may be. Right or wrong. He's a better person because of it and has turned his mind to completing a career in the military.
Besides, I also believe that if I couldn't do it to my own how can I do it to someone elses. Mine is no more above the law than anyone else.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
