I wonder why
As I look at the site I see that there are 43 guests looking at it also. I wonder why they don't sign up?

Some times some of the "guests" you see looking at a forum are search engine slurpers.
The various search engines use "bots" called Slurp Sliders or Spiders to amass information for search engines.I'm your huckleberry...

I just checked our current guest list. Of the 38 guest 20 of them are actual guest, 18 others are search engine spiders

That's right, I was an unregistered "guest" for months before I registered, intending to only lurk and never post. I enjoyed reading the forum but didn't think I'd fit in. Then I registered just to access some search functions, went into the chatroom out of curiosity, and met Reca, who interrogated and then befriended me and encouraged me to start posting. Nope, they're not. When a guest is on-line it tells Site Staff if they're a search engine spider, or if they're a guest, it tells us there IP address. Originally Posted by dapples
