I try to pick times when the theater is not crowded so I can have both sides.

i rarely have ppl sitting next to me. but if they do i will use the armrest even if there arms already there. I dont care if my elbow is rubbing some other persons(usually they will move theirs lol )

We have a drive in theatre, so there aren't any armrests

(Actually I haven't been there yet, LOL). I guess I take the right side arm rest.

I always sit at an isle seat because I'm a little on the tall side, so I use whatever is on the outside. Then, I cleverly insert my arm under my wife's arm, and hold her hand. That way, I get both!

Reca, you must go to crappy theaters. I go to ones that have two arm rests per chair as well as cup holders.

The right has your cup holder, so I say the right.
The arm rest on the left end of the aisle never has a cup holder, and every seat gets at least one cup holder.
That said, I only sit where I have two spaces on either side of me.I'm your huckleberry...
