It's very, very hard for me to get pumped up about the first month or so of the CFB season. When your team is playing East Handkerchief State (a term used by SuperDouche Bob Stoops that I actually find funny), you can't tell jack crap about whether you're gonna be good, bad or middle-of-the-road. Congrats to Texas for beating Rice. You should've beaten Rice. You should've beaten Rice worse than you did. For me, the season begins in the Cotton Bowl on October 2nd. See you nerds then!
Oh....I almost forgot. HOOK 'EM!!!!!!

I'm not going to get to hyped up cause it was only against Purdue, but at least Notre Dame won their opener. They showed signs that they might play well offensively, but I have a feeling that the defense is going to get run over once they play a team with a decent offense. I think a 9-3 season would be a great season for the Golden Domers.
I'll be watching the Boise St.-Va. Tech game tomorrow night. I like the Hokies, so I'll be rooting for them, but if Boise wins and goes undefeated, it would be interesting to see if they sneak into the title picture. TCU looked good last night against Oregon St. BSU and TCU really need to join one of the BCS conferences. They could make the Big 12 a 12 team conference again. And they actually would add value to the conference as well as adding to their credibility.
I think the teams with the best chance of going undefeated and making it to the title game are Alabama and Ohio State. Maybe Va. Tech would be my third choice, because I'm still not buying that the ACC is better top to bottom than before until they prove it. I more likely think the title game will be an undefeated team against a one loss team.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

to the BIG TEN?...
I mean come on, we've kept Vandy around all these years...
wait, they keep the average GPA of the SEC up - good point, I can't see what Ole Miss brings to the table...
and Lew - don't feel bad, I had to google hawkeye too =/ I thought it was something special...
these colleges and their silly mascots - green wave, crimson tide, hawkeye, vols, war chickens - I mean war eagles...
I mean come on... why not something fierce... Fighting Tigers, Fighting Irish, Gators, Bulldogs, Razorbacks, Wildcats, Wolverines - you know - something that strikes fear in the hearts of your opponents...
well, unless you suck =/ (like most of those non-SEC schools)

Much respect to Don Jo Pa, aka the last man that will ever touch Nick Saban's head at midfield after a game. Those Big X refs need to learn how to spot a the ball though. Cost us two first downs. I didn't make the game, but I enjoyed the experience anyway. No sauce required my friends:

And now for some fun:

As today's police officers you are not unlike your counterparts of years past. You are an elite group of select members, a brotherhood of highly trained professionals, who are called upon to protect your community in a time of need. Guardians for safety. Being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. You must be honest, trustworthy and fearless in the face of evil. You are being watched everyday. Represent yourself, your department and the shield, for it should always be the embodiment of all that is good and justly. You are the thin blue line. Be proud, be tough and be safe.

That may be enough of a gutsy win to focus Bama through the next two. By they way, Ingram is more of a freak than ever before.
