Anyone who says that Mallett is a Heisman candidate is a freakin moron. Arkansas would have won that game with about any other QB in there. Mallett is a choke artist at best. But kudos to Bama for stiffening up in the second half. They won the one game that was probably the most important of the season. I'm doubting anyone else will come that close to them again until their bowl game.

Florida doesn't look too scary to me. I think this is kind of a down year for the SEC, at least by comparison to the last few years. Auburn is maybe the second best team, and they don't impress me much. I honestly don't think the SEC has a team left that can really threaten Bama. LSU might have the defense, but not the offense. I think Bama would just have to simply lay an egg to lose before the bowl. With how Bama and Ohio St. are playing, I don't think Boise, TCU, or Oregon have much of a chance to get into the championship. But then again, as soon as you think everything is simple in college football, something crazy happens and its a whole new world.

Hey! They looked good vs. SC I though. A lot better than against Clemson. If Newton would throw more I would be real happy. He sure can run though. I look for him to start showing up in Heisman voting, purely because of how much difference he alone makes for the team. Though I'd still pick Ingram for now.
AU's got a pretty favorable schedule coming up. Two good home games against Arkansas and LSU, but other than those there looks to be a decent chance of it being on hell of an Iron Bowl. I could see us being a one lose team entering the UA game.
And for the love of god, please someone beat Boise St/TCU.

Right now you just go for on 4th down every time against LSU. If you punt you are punting to Peterson and that is just stupid. If you don't make it, you take on the LSU offense, and they are going nowhere right now. With the talent on that team that just leaves me shaking my head too.

Brilliant call by Les Miles at the end of the game to confuse the hell out of the Tennesee defense , forcing them into being penalized for having 14 players on the field.

On the positive side, at least Jarett Lee's interception in the end zone wasn't run back for a touchdown , I guess that counts as improvement.
