Who would you donate to?
A thread on another site prompted this one.
If you were given millions of dollars, could keep 5 for yourself, and had to donate the rest to two organizations, who would you donate to?
To make it a 'general' thing, you can't donate to anything police related.
I would donate to:
Hospice of Michigan...I've seen what they do, and it is nothing short of wonderful.
St. Jude's...obvious reasons why

you?
(btw, I meant donate 'to'
)

This could get long winded.......
I would donate to The local Domestic violence shelter.
There is much lip service to the horrors of domestic violence but it is still a crime where the victim is looked down upon... society still is in the mindset that only weak women stay in an abusive relationship, which is not the case. Once these women are given a chance to heal and get their lives together I can say almost all that I have encountered are some of the bravest I have met. In many cases there is little that can be done aside from a restraining order to protect them.... Yet leaving and getting a restraining order is a very dangerous proposition for them as we all well know. Shelters have to turn away women and children because they are full to capacity... and most shelters struggle to stay alive... funding is difficult and time consuming to obtain and this is not a popular cause for donations in the private sector....
The second donation would be to a charity for timed out teens.
These are the forgotten children.... they grow up bounced around through the state's foster care system only to be tossed out into the world of wolves with in many cases nothing because the state sees them as adults at the age of 18.They have no money and no one there to support them..... there are the lucky ones that get wonderful foster parents who continue on being parents to these children even after the state decides that their time is up.... but for those that don't have that.... don't they deserve a chance too?

Not police related?
I'd donate it to a charity founded in my honor.
Otherwise, I would donate it to the S.H.E.R.I.F.F fund.I'm your huckleberry...

a charity that supports the homeless and one that provides medical services (and stuff like that) to a 3rd world county. Or better yet, one that would provide medical TRAINING to a 3rd world country (give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, bla bla bla).

Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (North America's largest no kill shelter...great programs/education/rehabilitation/cemetary etc..beautiful. If you like animals..check it out)
I am not sure on the second one...hard one. Definately animal related...maybe for ex racing greyhounds or ex racing horses. So many needy organizations. THe animals cannot protect themselves from neglect, starvation or overpopulation...they are essentially helpless. So a animal rescue group for sure...or maybe a group that paired needy animals with needy kids...the best of both worlds.

American Cancer Society
Then probably to a group like United Way that distributes to multiple charities.
If that's cheating, then to the Children's Hospital.
