Jars are reusable and therefore better for the environment and thus preferred by green olives?

Good one.

Green olives are packed in brine and black ones are packed in water. The high salt contact in the brine reacts with the can. That's why pickles, peppers, and such are in jars, not cans.
So why don't they just pack the black ones in jars and make everything olive equal.

Green olives are raw and processed in a brine solution and can be stored in a resealable container. Most black olives are cooked and canned.
Except in foreign lands, but we know all of the other countries are always doing weird things. That's why they're foreigners.
