Thread: Cell Phones

I'm rough as hell on a phone. The Rzr or Slvr wouldn't hold to me. That's one of the reasons I went with Nextel. Their phones are built tough. My i560 is encased in rubber and is said to be able to with stand a 2 story drop. It's built to military specs for dust/vibration/water resistance.

For years I didn't have a cell phone. I just never had the need for one. Two days ago I came home from work and there was a package for me. I opened it up and inside was a Nokia phone w/ a prepaid plan.
One of my very good friend's (she is a gem!) bought it for me because she thought I should have one in case something terrible happened. I charged it up, stuck it in my handbag, and there it will sit unless there's an emergency.
I like my land-line better.

03-12-06, 02:02 PM #66Polyphonic as standard. But of course you can d/l music tones. It does have the color display now. It also comes with Telenav navigation. 60 is free and $10 a month if you want to keep it. I'll play with it for a while but I won't keep it.

03-12-06, 03:24 PM #70Govt Discount should be 20% off your service and 30% off the hardware. Should bring the SLVR down to $140 from 200. It's new and pretty much the best thing on the market with those features, unless you're a text messager and looking to upgrade to something like a TREO.

I'm thinking of switching from Verizon to Sprint. But, I'm like a major geek and have a Treo 600. I saw that Sprint has a PDA phone (not the treo).
Any fellow Geeks have One? And how is the service/ range in general?
