Who's responsible for the fix this country's in today?
It's not the oil companies, auto industry, mortgage companies, food suppliers, loan companies, banks or the manufacturer of any product, it's we Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public who are responsible for the trouble this country and our economy is in today. A country operates on it's economy which is based on supply and demand. When we learn to live within our means and stop buying the things we demand but can't afford home mortgage foreclosures will cease and the cost of everything we buy from gasoline to a new home will come down and the stockmarket will go up.

Are you suggesting sir, that there are consequences to the choices that we make, both as an individual and as a society? Could you also be saying that such consequences might actually have bearing on not only our personal futures, but also those of others around us?
I guess next you'll suggest that it isn't the government's responsibility to rush in and save those who have made poor decisions from their own lack of foresight, or, perhaps that it is not a government's job to bail out profiteering businesses who support reckless borrowing practices by consumers!! Is your contention that our government, (as keepers of the public trust, and recipients of only that which the people themselves entrust), could in and of itself actually support such ill-concieved practices, rather than allowing financial markets to self-correct?
Is it your belief that we as a nation should not be 'nannied' and wealth not redistributed, but that people, both as individuals and as businesses, should be actually allowed to err, and suffer the eventual consequences of such, without the security of beaurocratic salvations? Are you purporting the notion that our government should allow such consequences serve as their own lessons in discipline and self-control to yield the eventual real, and firmly-founded solvency of an economy?
Such suggestions are without a doubt the most "un-democratic" things I've ever heard.

Yes sir, there are consequences indeed and when it gets to the point where we can't pay the interest, much less none on the principal of borrowed money and credit card debt this country will start to slip down the tube and will suffer the worst depression which will make the one in the 30's look like a big spender's holiday.
It is my belief sir, that our government gets too overly involved in giving money to country's that hate us, bailing out failing businesses who've made wrong decisions, spending money to save swamp swimming beetles and other endagered species.
You sir, are twisting the meaning of my thread, as our country should not play nanny to any failing business, take monies away from well managed businesses and give to those able bodied people who refuse to get a job, pay for an illegal alien's medical bills or to play Santa Claus to the rest of the globe.
You sir, may be a democrat and believe in every suggestion you've made and implied. However, since I'm a non-democrat I don't believe, as perhaps you, Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy, Hillary and other Dems do, that we should have a trillion $$ plus cradle to the grave health program that would cover every man woman and child, including illegal alien and we the taxpayer would be paying the premiums.
If you think I've made the most un-democratic suggestions you've ever heard, you haven't heard any thing yet.

Perhaps he wasn't able to see how firmly my tongue was planted in cheek...
Read it again, Ret., then browse my post history on such topics. "Un-democratic" refers to party, not the concept of government.

Please accept my sincere apology Sir County Bear for committing an unpardonable sin
.. not being familiar with your highly perfected tongue in cheek posting style, your message came across like comments from a tongue wagging liberal interrogator.
Thanks for the tip...i'll have to browse a little of your post history on similar topics.
