    Joining the scooter brigade!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's time to be afraid. I got my motorcycle permit yesterday, and am picking up his & her scooters tomorrow. This one is mine.

Hubby has the same one in blue. I'm going to be putting devil duckies on both my helmet and the scooter. They're just little 150cc's but for $1k per and between 70 and 80 mpg, and I can still do 60mph, I'll be good with it. Eventually I may grow up, but right now fuel economy is a BIG thing for us.

    Let the jokes begin!

The shop is just a couple miles from my house, I walked in and asked what they had. Since I was buying two, they got excited. eBay price is $1095 but that includes to your door shipping. There's some minor assembly needed when they ship it to you, but since I'm picking it up they'll take care of that for me.

Here, the motorcycle license is no big deal, and insurance runs about $20 a month. Gravy considering what I'll be saving in fuel. Tags are less than half of what car tags go for. Honestly, the more I think about it, I wonder why I didn't do this a while ago. Most of the driving I do is around town, and I really only ever haul myself. *shrug* I may look silly while riding, but I'll be laughing every time I fill up for $7.

That's the same position I took. I was actually at a red light, next to a very busy gas station and I felt ghey, and then I realized...half of those people had been standing there pumping gas for SEVERAL minutes. I just smiled at my recent revelation and puttered away.

Ins. for me is 140 a year, and registration is 8 bucks a month. And I get about 80 mpg

I've been lookin at the Yamaha Zuma it is a 49cc and with the proper upgrades you can get it up to 60mph+. I already checked the tires are rated for 125mph
A scooter would be perfect for a gas saver.

    psshhh!!!

Actually, next year I'll probably be upgrading. Still a scooter, but I think it'll be a 125 cc, up to 65 mph, which, in MN, requires a motorcycle endorsement.
