What would you be doing today if you hadn't chosen LE or the kind of work you're doing?
If you hadn't chosen LE or the kind of work you're doing today, what other line of work would you probably be doing today? This applies to retirees as well, those who made a career in LE or retired from another kind of work or profession. Do you think you've made, or did make the right decision?
Instead of state LE I would have most likely retired from federal LE. When I went from city LE to state LE I was offered a job with the federal Govt. and turned it down because my wife didn't want to move to NY.
Even though I'm probably getting a lttle less retirement benefits, I'm satisfied with the decision I made.

I would have probably gone into paramedicine and worked for an ambulance service, or gone to school for something in medicine, nursing maybe, and gone that route.

I would probably have served as a handmaiden of capitalism by becoming a corporate consultant or investment banker right after college like most of my college classmates did. By now I'd either be a millionaire donating huge amounts of money to Democratic campaigns to try to assuage my guilt about being rich, or have jumped off the nearest skyscraper at the first sign of a stock market crash. So it's probably for the best that I didn't go that route.

Wow! Definately try my hand at a playboy centerfold... That's still on my list of things to try to do when I retire (if they'll even entertain the idea of a 48 yr old! lol) But, its a dream of mine, so its worth a shot, to at least get in the mag. And to think, I couldve been a girl next door! lol I personally think that would eb awesome...
however, being as artsty-fartsy-girlie-girl as I am... I like to decorate, so maybe an interior designer or professional cake decorator. Or a chef.. but then again.. I love to cook because I WANT TO for friends & family... if i HAD to do it everyday, I may not like it at all...
i guess id be good at nursing, because i liek to help people.. but I hate needles w. a passion. Part of the reason why my sister hasn't laid any ink on me yet... (she's a tt artist) plus, I want to be 100% sure what i want before i get it... i dont want to regret getting oneV

I loved working as a Detention Deputy, I looked around for a lot of years before I found the thing I loved doing. I may try to get back into it once I move and get settled.
My dad, I miss him every day.

I'd probably be a hose dragger. I was working part time in both areas for a few years until an opportunity arose.

Probably would have retired from the United States Navy. The military in general or firefighting would have appeal to me if I was young and picking a career.
