Surgery
I had minor surgery this week. Last year I had a Pilonidal Cyst that got infected and became a very large and painful abscess. Getting carved up to drain the abscess and having the packing changed repeatedly was the most unpleasant experience of my life.http://www.emedicinehealth.com/pilon...article_em.htm
A pilonidal cyst is a cyst that develops along the tailbone (coccyx) near the cleft of the buttocks. These cysts usually contain hair and skin debris. The term pilonidal is derived from the Latin words pilus (hair) and nidus (nest). Individuals with a pilonidal cyst may not have any symptoms at all (termed asymptomatic), whereas others may develop an infection of the cyst with associated pain and inflammation.
Pilonidal cysts occur more frequently in men than in women and usually occur between the ages of 15 to 24. Pilonidal cysts are uncommon after the age of 40.
A few weeks ago the cyst came back so I made arrangements to remove it this time before the infection. On Monday I went under general anesthesia and got the cyst cut out. My wife says I have a 4 inch incision. The surgeon did a great job, it's all sewn up and glued back together.
I've been camped out on the couch enjoying the altered state of mind the doctor is giving me courtesy of hydrocodone. Hopefully there won't be any more infections. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

Ouch! I hope you heal up soon! In the meantime, maybe you can post some crazy stuff and blame it on your altered state of mind!

Lucky you! I take one vicodin and Im out for at least 15 hours! Good grief I take 2 Advil PM and I never hear the alarm clock! I seem to have no tolerance at all, to pain or meds. That makes it fun since Im prone to kidney stones, at least once a year it seems. Im completely allergic to Demerol, they gave it to me once and I don't recall 3 days after that!
Xiphos - Hope you are healing well and feeling better soon. Also hope its gone for good this time, doesn't sound like something you want to deal with repeatedly. It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you aren't!
