Tonight's dessert.
Tonight's dessert was baked, brandied apples, pears and pear apples (hybrid between a pear and an apple). Since my wife's sick and I'm the chief cook and bottle washer I thought I 'd try something different for dessert tonight and it turned out great.. in fact delicious!!
I took 2 Gala apples, 2 apple pears and 1 bartlet pear; cored and washed the unpeeled fruit; filled up the core openings with a 3 to 1 mixture of sugar and cinnamin and Approx. 1 Tbsp. of brandy.
then placed on a greased baking pan and baked at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Since my wife is diabetic and I'm on the borderline I used Splenda, where 1 cup equals a cup of sugar and tastes as good without calories.

Ooooh, Yum! We didn't do bad with some Schwan's Ice Cream. I had Chocolate Peanutbutter Cup and CTR had Mint Chocolate Chip.

When we were kids, mom would take apples, core them, pack the center with brown sugar, and top them with a dollop of butter. She'd then put them in the microwave for a while, and as we'd watch them, the butter would melt, then the brown sugar would erupt out the top and cascade down the sides, making 'Volcano Apples' - one of our favorite desserts.
