    Why McCain won the debate...

    http://www.newsmax.com/ruddy/Why_McC...27/135077.html

Any question that McCain is too old to run for office has been put to rest. He was sharp, on point and looked good, good enough, that is...If the debate was held before the elite faculties of Harvard and Columbia, schools Obama attended, he would have won hands down. But this debate was held before the American public.
Obama was too smooth, too smart. Remember the W. Factor. Bush lost all the debates with John Kerry on style and substance. But Bush came across as more likeable. Ditto McCain.

To add a foot note: If Barack Obama should lose this election, this country could be seeing riots that would make the Watts, Zoot Suiters, labor unions and other riots down through our history look like Sunday school picnics in comparison.

Have you ever witnessed or pulled duty during a race riot, where the mob was amed with bricks, rocks, clubs, 2 by 4's with clusters of nails, molotov cocktails, shotguns, pistols and automobiles used in the past to drag officers behind them.
Personally, I don't think you'd want to bring one on, where every officer's life would be at risk by a mob of hundreds, if not thousands of people driven to the point of insanity where they're like wild animals. Rioters have lost all connection with reality as to knowing right from wrong and would tear apart anyone wearing a badge, uniform or who opposed them in any way.
A riot is one of the worst things a law enforcement offiicer can be involved in and many have been badly injured and killed during past riots.
I rode with an Atlanta PD officer during the events of MLK's asasination and funeral and saw a tip of the iceberg of what could have happened. Also, I attended a one week riot control symposium, put on by the Feds., where they had a simulated city block set up with mock rioters throwing rubber bricks at us.
What I learned from those events taught me that I would never want another LEO to be injured or killed during a riot of any kind.
This, in know way effects my opinion in the upcoming election, as I want the most experienced and qualified man to be our next commander in chief, who is obviously John McCain. If a race riot is touched off by the McCain- Palin victory my prayers will be with the troops.

Retmilleo909 is absolutely correct about a race riot. Innocent people , LEOs and rioters will be injured and killed. I feel its a strong possibility if McCain wins that riots will occur , it won't change my vote , but I'm not looking forward to dodging bricks , bottles and bullets . I don't like seeing my officers endangered over stupidity. I bet you certain elements of Obama's supporters will use this threat to try to influence the vote as the election nears.

I feel the same way about that as I do about Iraq - Contain it by closing the borders, and let them destroy their own neighborhoods if they want to, but no government support to help them re-build.

If that strategy was announced before the riots occured, then the sane people would have time to prepare to defend their own property with whatever they have, whether that be shotguns or baseball bats. There'll be more of them than rioters, probably.

Borders!!...What borders??...Blacks and whites intermingle around here in every neighborhood and shop and do business in the same stores.

No my friend, it's not quite that easy...What sane or insane person would defend their property today, when most are anti gun carry and as meek as lambs? Most depend on LE to solve their problems from a family squabble to warning their next door neighbor that their kid plays the trumpet too loud.

Yeah, I know... I didn't say it would work, just that I feel that way. The borders are wherever the rioting stops.

Yes it is very dangerous and yes I wouldn't want to see it happen. Maybe I am grasping at straws here but wouldn't the National Guard be called out to assist, as they were in Watts? I know our soldiers are taxed as it is, just a thought. I pray to God that race riots do not happen. But I also don't think we should be bullied into this race riot happening just because Obama ran for president and lost to McCain. If that happens. Los Angeles will be a war zone if it does.

I share your views on who should be the next C in C. Obama, in my opinion, does not have the experience to lead this nation. My prayers will be with the troops as well as LE if we have race riots. If Obama wins, in my opinion, you may as well kiss this country goodbye. I do not like his views, policies or politics and think he would be a detriment to society as a whole. Thus I will be voting for McCain / Palin.

Though I was very young , my family lived in the area of Watts at the time. Torrance, Carson and Inglewood especially. Also Westminster. My dad would tell us the story on how he encountered some rioters while driving on his way to work at the Long Beach piers where he had his job as a meat and poultry inspector for the USDA at the processing plants. Because he showed no racial bias and knew how to talk to these idiots he was let through unscathed. My dad was also a former LE deputy sheriff reserve as well. Though he was working for the USDA at that time he still had a badge and a federal commission by them.

I pray that doesn't happen. Although I was too young to remember the Detroit riots, my dad had just joined the police dept at that time and between the stories I've heard from him and things I've learned over the years, I wouldn't encourage it or wish that on anyone.

"A society can only be governed if it wants to be governed." Truthful words.

Imagine, if you all will, a nationwide riot. You may as well say the start of the 2nd American Civil War. There's what? 600,000 cops nationwide? Versus the untold fighting millions? Insanity. Cops will be fighting street to street and house to house. Dodging bullets, bricks, and sniper attacks. How many cops would even report to work?

Either way folks, we're screwed. The best advice I can give is this:

    1. Make sure your family is out of the populated areas and safe with either family or very trusted friends.

    2. Stand as long as you can, but don't be stupid. Cops are going to be needed after this all blows over. Don't waste your life over a gas station or a liquor store. Yes, LE is a calling. But at the end of the day it is just a job. Your family needs you more. Use this time to plan and prepare cause I think time is running out.
Are you a 3%er? If you aren't, you should be.

I fully plan to stand my ground against anyone who tries to trespass it. I will be armed heavily, well stocked, and ready to go. Maybe it will save our local LE a few calls, maybe not, but I am damn sure going to fight. I have already told my wife that she might have to go stay with my parents in the country, and she is fine with it.
