I didn't know there were geeks in comic books--I thought there were only action heroes and villains in them!

I used to be a serious collector. Unfortunately I allowed myself to "grow up". What are your favorites?

Well, you can grow up and still like comic books. They're a fairly decent investment (that's what I tell my husband...lol). Some of my faves are Captain America, Tomb Raider, the newer Daredevil series, some of the X-Men...I have tons. My most favorite ever though was the Amazing Spider-Man issue that was the 9-11 tribute.

I grew up on Spiderman and Daredevil. I was thrilled to take my youngest son to see movies based on the heros I grew up with. I was even more thrilled he enjoyed them as much as I did. He has been a fan ever since. I would subscribe for him but here lately they are more for the grownups than the really young kids.
I actually caught a copy of the 911 Spiderman tribute and stood at the rack and read it. As a kid I was unable to subscribe and read them at the stand. The clerk was nice enough to allow it.
I used to follow the X-Men quite often but it became a little confusing with so many spin offs. I try and internet search Wolverine to catch up on him but am usually unsuccessful. Thanks for bringing back a few good memories.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

I used to read the X-Men many years ago... It got to the point that I couldn't keep up anymore with all the new stuff being thrown in and my busy schedule.

Judge Dredd and Punisher are my favs. It's hard to get Judge Dredd comics, tho.
When I was younger I made mine Marvel. Spidey, X-Men (Wolvy ftw), DD, all the greats. DC was okay- Marvel always seemed to be more grounded, though. DC heroes always seemed to be other-than-human, whereas Marvel characters always had very human problems, despite whatever powers they have. I'm glad to see there are other comic book lovers out there! My husband thinks I'm completely geeky, but he plays with remote control cars, planes, and helis, so I figure the comic books are an equal trade-off. heh

I had one of the Anniversary editions of the punisher, the silver anni I believe. I wonder what it would be worth now?

I think I still have it. Shortly after I read it, it went into a plastic sleeve type of thing. I'll have to stop at mom and dad's and see if i still have it.

If you still have it, you can go to comicspriceguide.com and check to see what it's worth. You'll just need to know what the issue number is and the Volume it was printed in.

You're welcome! I just went through all of my boxes and spent the last four days re-pricing everything. I'm an organizational freak so I had fun doing it. If you only have one to do, it won't take any time at all. heh

Clearly, Jenna's never held a real job. Sweetie, they are in a diner- you know, those "dirty" resturants you and your social elite turn nose up at? Well in those places, they keep their sinks behind the counter and lower to the ground so that people like you aren't disgusted by the sight of them.
