sex offender map
Go to this link and enter your street address...it will show a "house" in the middle of the map, that's your house... all the little colored boxes are registered Sex Offenders... click on them and you get a name, address & picture of the person along with his crime... pretty amazing and scary...it shows you where they live in proximity to your home and the local schools.

Crap, my neighborhood has five, all within 1/4 mile of the local high school!!
Insert witty comment and disclaimer here.

We've got them all over around my area. None in my neighborhood though (convicted anyway) but that's likely got something to do with the fact that no convicted sex offender wants to live in a close knit neighborhood that has 6 officers with marked take homes living here.
My friend in the next neighborhood over was rather alarmed to find out there is a convicted child molester living on the next corner from her 6 yr old daughters bus stop. She, of course, waits with her and is there to pick her up, but still.
ETA: the map came up with 259 within less than 10 minutes from my house in either direction, but the vast majority of them lived in one clustered area that is fairly run down housing. Kind of the "bad" part of the good side of town.Last edited by Indy; 03-08-06 at 01:01 PM.
