OR Giveaway Save

This past spring I won the giveaway here and OR and Baumshoe hooked me up with a 5.11 jacket. It saved my butt this past week.

I signed up for a fall qualification a few months ago having no idea what the weather would be like. It's been pretty dry the last few years and I can't remember the last time I had to qualify in the rain. As the day rolled up the weather started getting bad.

I started preparing by making sure I had the thermal underwear on and I brought rain pants and my 5.11 jacket. It's like my duty jacket but has a better liner, better waterproofing, and a hood. It's better in every way!

Just as I arrived at the range is started pouring rain. We practiced in the rain and qualified on the daylight course in the rain. The jacket kept me warm and dry and let me concentrate on my shooting. It was great training because it's been so long since I've had to shoot with a wet gun and wet hands. That jacket really kept me comfortable though for several hours and I was really able to concentrate on the basics. Some of my co-workers were not as well prepared and they really suffered.
