Sorry, "rant" is spoken for.

Since November 8th, I have watched a number of folks express their fear that the new "Hope and Change" bullshit will result in our second amendment rights being eroded.

Frankly, I agree - they are in serious peril as evidenced by the careful wording and less careful slips of the tongue we have seen from Barrack Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

That said, most of you are paying it lip service.

There is only one organization that fights for your gun rights with any proven track record of success in Congress. That's right, the National Rifle Association.

I personally feel that any of you who are bitching and have not joined are akin to those who gripe and do not vote - and we know now from the outcome of our last election that number is legion.

I've heard all sorts of excuses...

1. It's too expensive. Horseshit, it costs $35 a year. As a member who is an LEO, you also get free life insurance - you can't get that for that price anywhere. Non-LEO's receive a smaller policy, also cheap.

2. They are not rabid enough for me - they compromised in 1994. What a special argument. They are the ONLY successful game in town and you want to play bullshit politics with your gun rights? Sounds like the conservatives that sat out the election to me.

3. They don't believe what I believe. Spiffy, don't join. However, if they believe 75% of what you believe - again, there is no other game in town. Change it from within if you like.

I'll sum this up - if you're scared about what might happen to your liberties, join the only organization that has been able to protect them.

Or don't bitch, your call.

Lifetime member here.....I can bitch, but I won't. I will buy my lowers, handguns, and rounds for those weapons, as fast as I can. If banned, then I did good. If no ban, then I have more toys to play with. It's a win-win.

Been a Life member since '64. I agree everyone needs to join. I don't agree with everything they say especially when the term jack booted was used. They are the best choice for all LEO's

I've taught it - it's called the Eddie Eagle program, and it is good basic kids stuff.

I will PM you my card. It says 12.31.07 but I know this is my second year. I cant even remember, do we get new cards each year? (I may be confused because we dont get IDPA cards each year).
