    Concealed Carry

It's starting, in and interview that was buried by the media Obama says he is going seek Federal legislation to elimilnate concealed carry in the right to carry states. He also said in and interview in April that that he opposed concealed carry except for active and retired police officers and opposes the right to self defense. I'm sure he'll try to get HR218 repealed to eliminate retired POs from carrying. So all you CCW permit holders keep your eyes open on legislation that will be coming up after January because I don't think you'll see much in the major media about it.

Is this a new recent interview do you know? Or an older one? I know there is an older one and I can probably get the link for the older one.

It won't pass. Lobbyists will castrate him if he even makes a concerted effort methinks

First GUNS, then SPEECH, then ASSEMBLY. The Constitution will just be an old piece of paper.

Isn't that why we were given the right to keep and bear arms? If the government really tries any of this, they will end up in a battle they may not win

The most recent was just before the election and it's probably the one you referenced the other was in I believe April on a TV news segment, FOX is all I watch, of interview he was conducting when it came out. You sure didn't hear any of it in the debates as those questions were never asked.

    He can't do it.

Scalia made it clear in Heller, if you read it carefully, that if they brought another such case back to the Court - it would be shoved up their ass and broken off with a very wide and ranging definition of the Second Amendment.

Now, if he gets a justice - then worry.

We may still be on firm ground...but I'm still worried. I think if I worry any more than I already am, I'm going to start hyperventilating

I'm worried also. If he get a chance to put two of his liberal judges on the Supreme Court,m you can kiss the 2d Amendment goodbye (as well as others). All they have to do is get a case, review it and say the previous ruling was flawed. Remember, Nobama has already stated that the US Constitution is flawed in regards to wealth distribution. Given the slightest chance, he will CHANGE (his slogan) the Constitution to his line of thinking.

Remember, the courts are only as good as the Judges. GOD gave us rights, the Courts interprets those rights.

They can do it and hopefully the SC would rule it unconstitutional, remember the Heller decision was addressing a total ban not concealed carry. The bad part is the Heller decision was only 5-4.

You need to read Heller again, and compare it to Scalia's other writings.

He dropped more hints in Heller than I have ever seen.

There is a law student/former LEO that posts on another board. I will see if he will come here and weigh in on this topic although he is left of my stand (although pro gun absolutely), he has had a chance to talk to some of the judges involved per my undestanding.

If he's talking to the Supreme Court justices, I'd love to hear from him.

If I recall what he said correctly, he has. He's in DC, but was a LEO in Washington State. I sent him a PM, I dont think he will mind. He seems to be very intelligent/knowledgeable, but I think we have to shake the attorney out of him

If he actually spoke with Scalia, then by all means bring him aboard.

Otherwise, I would carefully apply my BS detector. Justice Scalia isn't shy about his opinions or where he expresses them, but SCOTUS justices don't usually have sit downs with former cops.

I'm not a lawyer, but simply a student. If he has information that would broaden my horizons, I'm all for it.

I dont blame you. I hope he will come here and discuss this -- I dont recall if it was Scalia or which Justice he spoke to, even if I recall correctly. It would be too difficult for me to find the reference...but I may try.
