Real or Fake?
For those of you who have a Christmas tree, do you get a real tree or a fake tree?
I've been doing the fake/pre-lit tree for a couple of years.
While I kinda miss the pine smell, it's nice to not wrestle a live tree in and out of the house.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

I prefer a real tree but have been using a fake one (but not pre-lit because I like to change the color scheme each year). My family always has a real tree. This year will be the first that I'm not even putting up a tree - I'll be gone for so long over the next month it's not worth the trouble. It seems weird to not put one up, though.

Last year I got a real tree, but my dog has is very overzealous with marking his "territory" so getting a real tree this year seems like a recipe for disaster.
I've decided to get an aluminum pole to celebrate Festivus this year. No tree for me. A buddy of mine and I are going to Menards this week to pick up poles.
A festivus for the rest of us!!

The thread title is misleading.
Seriously though, my old man cut down a couple trees up north last weekend and said he was going to bring one over to my house for me. So I guess I'll go with Real. The views expressed in the above post are the sole opinion of the author and do not reflect any official position by the author's employer and/or municipality.

I don't put up trees or any other decorations for any holidays. I don't have time to celebrate. Baaaaaaaaaaaaah humbug!

Actually yeah. But with a group of friends who are as f'ed up as me, not family. We're getting together on Dec 23rd (The day of Festivus) and eating Meatloaf (The traditional Festivus dinner). Before dinner we're doing the airing of grievances, and after dinner we're doing the feats of strength.

We've already agreed the airing of grievances will be purely comical and not intended to piss people off. The last thing we want to happen is have the feats of strength turn into an actual slug fest.No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13

Jmur, here's a handy form you can use if you'd like to distribute written copies of your grievances.

Kittylynn and I haven't put up a tree of any sort in a while. Our cats seem to always want to climb the thing. They can't seem to resist that tree. One day we put it up and the very next morning it is toppled on the floor strewn all over the place. Its just not worth it to us to have to redecorate it all the time. We have a realistic fake one but is seems to be dropping a lot of needles. I kid you not. It's just the two of us here, along with the cats. However, there is always a big real tree or two at Kittylynn's in-laws where all of our family holiday celebrations.
I heard Yankee Candle mentioned. They are the best. I have processed many a case of that commodity where I work.

The farm next to us have trees to cut for $40 as that is what we usually do but I also have a decent fake, so this year I think I will put up the fake and use the money saved for someone that needs it.
