What are you paying for gas in your area?
I'm amazed at the way the price of gas has dropped in the past couple of months. Drivers were fighting at the pumps to buy gas at $4.10 a gallon 2 months ago and today some stations in this area were selling it for $1.34 to $1.39 a gallon.
Is it possible that gas could drop below $1.00 a gallon?

Right now it's about $1.67 - $1.75. It's really nice to throw $20 in and get over 10 gallons. I took my Tahoe in and told them to put $30 in...I got change because it filled it. That was weird.

That's pretty good for a full size diesel Pickup, and 4x4 at that. Is this common? If my math serves me right, thats 33 miles to the gallon.

It happens, our old Dodge used to get 28 mpg and that was an automatic (those normally get worst mileage). My trucks are usually manuals so I can control what rpms I shift at, I can coast easily, etc. I usually shift at 1500 rpms usually and at night when no one is on the freeway I drive 40-45mph, just cause it causes such an increase in mileage. Remember this old truck has almost 500,000 miles on it so I take it easy with it.

I have been told that 300,000 miles is nothing for a diesel. Its like catching a second wind. 100,000 is like just breaking in. Sometimes the body falls apart before the engine, or running gear does.
