So, hows your weather today?
Okay, so I've lived in this part of the country for just over a year now. I'd lived in Florida for most of my adult life, I'm talking the Florida Keys okay. So here I am, in Southeastern Indiana and I'm looking out my window at about 6 inches of snow, with it still falling and another 3 to 6 inches expected over the next 24 hours or so. I LOVE IT!!!!! I texted sweetpea this morning, woke her up to tell her how great it is outside. I've been taking pictures all morning. Me and the dog have been outside playing in it. God I love this weather!!!!
That is all, now I have to go defrost my toes.
BTW, my avatar is a pic I took this morning, lol.
My dad, I miss him every day.

About 63 degrees, kind of damp outside. We have a winter weather advisory for tonight. Typical Mississippi weather, you can run the A/C and Heat on the same day.

It's about 30 degrees and overcast. When I woke up this morning, there was snow on the ground. We're supposed to have snow showers throughout the day and then a miserable mix tonight with freezing rain.
I wish the warm weather would hurry and get here.

Light snow turning to rain by noon.....at last. We have had so much snow and so much rain this past 40 days you would think it was biblical.

Worked extensively with OSP and the troops down around Tualatin during the Green River Killer case. He dropped two he had taken and killed in King County and planted them down there to throw us off. Lots of fun in the old days. Some pretty good cops down your way.....the Portland cops couldn't be bothered. I should write a book about that one.

I remember that. I was a Portland cop then, but I can't speak to much about what was done or wasn't done, I simply don't know. I wasn't privy to what the brass was saying or doing. And lot of us grunts had lotsa conversations with whores in Portland about it, but most were too stupid to be of much help.
The city has always had a policy of us staying within our jurisdiction unless something was directly linked to us. The exception being a smaller agency needing one of our specialized units, but that can be worn thin pretty quick too. I think there's been some bad blood in the past when other local agencies have tried to get us to do their heavy work for them at our expense on a continuing basis. I imagine you would have gotten a lot more help if any bodies had been found within the city limits. I do recall overhearing some conversations among some guys that wanted to work the task force and the consensus was that there was no evidence anything happened in Portland. But again, you obviously know more about what happened than I do.
And to be honest, we had enough of our own homicides that no one in the detail spent a lot of time sitting around, especially back then. When I used to be somebody (I'm center top)

25 now. This morning at 0500 when I left for work it was -1. Snowed a couple of inches yesterday but even at 20 degrees it melted off mostly today since at the higher altitude the sun is a lot more direct.

Its about 73 right now. I have to A/C going. When I get off work it should be around 21 degrees so I'll have the heater going.

OK Mack, since you like the snow so much can you come here and shovel it for me!
Last week, I spent close to two hours in the AM to clear my driveway, front sidewalk and deck. Did a great job too, right to the concrete and wood on the deck. That afternoon I look out and see flakes, yes big fat snowflakes, mind you this was not in the forecast. Sure enough it snowed into the night and I had to close the day the same way I started, shoveling. And that was only one day, I had repeat performances during the week, then trying to get ice up.
I am wintered out! And what are we getting tonight, must be your storm heading our way. Predicting 1 to 4 inches of heavy snow before turning over to sleet and then possibly rain tomorrow. Going to be another fun morning trying to move as much snow as I can before it gets too heavy from the rain. Never lucky enough where it is just a little snow and would get washed away from the rain. Besides the ground is too cold for that, we've had artic air this way for a while. Oh and another thing, that beautiful white snow does not stay white, it is black with polution and gross. Ah, glad I got that off my chest.
Enjoy your snow, and please, please, Keep it!

Dallas is expecting a major ice storm tonight. It's already started to ice up on some roads North of Dallas.
As I was coming home this evening, IPN sent out about 10 text alerts about MVA's and major road closings.

If I am not mistaken, you actually live closer to Irishmick. I believe she lives in the Portland area.
As for weather, we are in the mid fifties for highs and lows in the mid thirties here in Central CA, Modesto area and clear as far as the eye can see.

I should apoligize for that crack....it wasn't the line guys...it was Mayor Bud Clark and Chief Penny Harrington. There is a lot more to the story but I would rather tell you the story face to face. Please accept my apologies....I need to watch my mouth from time to time.
