The High Road forum. VERY anti-cop.
I've been a regular poster on a forum called The High Road (hah!) for the past five years. It's forum dedicated to all things involving firearms - to include politics etc. There are the usual number of wingnuts and cop haters on it of course. Most of the time I just ignore the posts, but a few days ago I came across a forum in which some of the posters were saying the best way to get a family member murdered is to call the cops, paramedics etc.
I posted some responses (I shouldn't of) and the whackos gave their usual responses. Well I reported one thread that I thought had gone to far to the moderator. Usually the moderaters respond quickly but this time the silence was deafning. Well I got angry.
Sent a nastygram to the moderator and posted what amounts to the finger on the thread and deleted THR from my list of favorites.
Yeah sure it was immature but it sure felt fucking great.
Over the years I've been called many things. I've had my wife and kids called many things. I've read some vile crap and shake my head when a cop screws the pooch and it gets all over the media. But this time I said screw it. I got angry and yelled back. That's the great thing about the Internet.
Thanks. Just wanted to vent a little.
I knew this would be the place to do it.
Thanks for listening. Or reading.

Did Oleg win his forum back yet, or is it still in the hands of the usurper? Are you on the one that ends in .us or the one that ends in .org?
You won't find Oleg putting up with too much anti-police crap - a GOOD many of his friends are law enforcement, including some of his models.I'm your huckleberry...

The gun community is full of law and order libertarians. It also has a population of dope smoking, cop hating, Libertarians. More anarchists than actual lovers of liberty (who understand some things like the good of society is more important than selfish anarchy.) As members of the "government oppression" they hate us.
Glad you're back! That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

White supremacists and survivalists are often gun nuts too. My last three years, I worked hate crimes and I came across some real losers who were proud life members of the NRA. Liking guns alone hardly says much about anyone's character. That's like judging someone because they like carrots....

Actually I got angry at Oleg's new High Road. I think part of the problem is that it's so busy and there are many members that things get by them. What made me upset was that I never got a response from the moderators. I resent having 911 being called a great way to get somebody murdered.
I am a proud member of the "gun culture" and a member of the NRA. I've dealt with the wing-nuts in person before. I figure that just goes with the job. But I guess I've just had enough with all the cop-hate rhetoric on that forum and what seems to me to be a tacit approval of some of the haters.
Dosen't matter. I'm spending more time here. Rest assured I'm not turning my back on gunowners or anything extreme like that. Just blowing off steam.
Many a walllocker in the changing room at work has a dent from a swift kick or a punch. I was just venting here.
Thanks.

You will find a lot of gun owners and a lack of cop haters here. Welcome home.

That's okay. Some of us Libertarians will keep a jaundiced eye towards ya.
Yeah, the Oleg versus interloper deal is a mess. Makes for a great soap opera.

Well Damn!
I just joined The High Road the other day because they had good info on reloading benches. I never got past those posts to see what the other posts were about. Yeah, I just read the posts Checkman was talking about and it seems only a select few of them are anti-cop. The rest seem okay. Sorry, Checkman, for your troubles.
