Census Bureau is Hiring
These are tough economic times for most, especially for anyone looking for work to make and extra buck or two. The Census Bureau started hiring people for the 2010 Census, jobs are temporary and pay differs from location, NYC pay is $18.75 an hour, San Francisco $22.00.
There are several different positions opening, jobs include numerators, driving around with a handheld computer and verifying addresses, data entry, field superviors, interviewing people and several more. If you do field work and use your car you are reinmbursed 55 cents a mile.
If you know anyone looking to make extra money here is the website:

Tests for the job is usually given some where in your locality, for those who do not have access to computers they can call 1-866-861-2010 to find out where the test is being held. There is a practice test available on the website.
They claim the work hours are flexible and you usually work with in your immediate geographical area. This may work for students, stay at home moms, shift workers or retirees, all of whom could use the extra money.
