Going to Vegas
I'm heading to Vegas for a few days at the end of the month. Neither my wife or I are much for gambling, so we're going to see the sights. Any advice on "must-sees" and "must avoids"?
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

Hoover Dam was pretty cool. Vegas has some good "family friendly" shows as well.
There’s a promise I need you to make
While I’m gone you take care of the love
And I’ll deal with the hate.
Don’t worry about me; I’ll be all right
Just care for your children and sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe on my watch tonight

I didnt see Hoover Dam but we rented a car and drove to all the national parks to go hiking. Beautiful...drove all the way from Nevada to Arizona to Utah...beautiful.
I'm not into gambling either but if you want some fun go to Dick's Last Resort..I think it might be in NY NY. THe place is hysterical...everyone gets a "paper hat" while there...with something funny on it. And the waiters swear at you and are obnoxious..pretty funny. They play games too.
To give you an idea of the humor of the place..my hat said, "I've been down more poles than a Las Vegas stripper"
(which for the record is NOT true)

Haven't been there in years so I am not sure if the hotels still have offers for discount show tickets and other comps like discounted buffets. I went on a group trip, some spent the entire time in the casinos, others, like myself, preferred site seeing. The hotels had packages for day trips to Hoover Dam, Lake Meade and even Aeriel rides of the Grand Canyon (not sure if they do that anymore) Tickets for the event were fairly reasonable. The shows were really reasonable, especially compared to Atlantic City prices but I heard that changed too. Shop around you may get some good deals. I heard the cirque soliel Beatles show is great, if you can get tickets. Costco offers event tickets at a discount too, if you belong to it you can check it out: http://www.insiteticketing.com/costc...;20Vegas,%20NV
If you don't belong to costco, triple A offers discounts as well.
Have a wonderful trip!

There are some nice burlesque shows....maybe you can sneak one of those in...tell her it's a show with dancing in it.

Or you can sit through the joy of "Mama Mia" like I did for over 2 hours...sitting next to every 50-65 year old lady singing along with every word to every Abba song.
I only went cause Scarpetta (who used to post on here) wanted to see it. The only good part was I got to dress up...never do that around here so it was nice.
