I was proud of this one . . . .
The FA instructors were at the range today working up our next firearms training round. We go out and shoot the courses and cuss and discuss what we should be doing for the officers.
We were at the 7 yard line, doing malfunction drills where another officer loads you mags and puts a few empty cases in for you.
I ran out of ammo first, and everyone else was still shooting. I pull out the folding knife, and wing it hard at the target with the following results:

Guess I passed the knife-throwing qual.

LOL I'd say so!

I thought we had fun the other day...when you ran out of ammo for the rifle you got to transition to the handgun before time ran out. We didnt get to play with knives.

That looks like fun... I think the last time I threw a knife was when I was a teenager.

Not bad.
A few years ago when I was instructing and qualifying folks, a certain sergeant with low passing probability failed his quals again. He got mad and from 10 yards away, tore the earmuffs from his head and hurled them through the center of the target. I dryly commented that he was a better shot with them than his duty handgun.
Yeah, I heard about it later.

You brought a knife to a gunfight, literally!

LMMFAO! THAT is awesome. If I wasn't a FI, I'd try to get away with that myself at qual. I'd have to say that would probably disable the gun arm of the perp, if not hit an artery and allow them to bleed out.

I've decided next year to put in a budget request for spring-loaded pistol bayonets for the whole PD. . . . .

Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.
