A big part of what makes this site special is the fact that it runs mainly on contributions from supporting members. This means that the site owners can focus on providing a site "for cops by cops," without being influenced by advertisers' demands. Unlike sites that depend mostly on ad revenues, Officerresource.com doesn't try to get more members and site views by relaxing verification standards or letting troublemakers run loose, and it doesn't allow pop-up ads or ads embedded in posts. The only ads allowed are a few unobtrusive ones from active members of the forum who are themselves LEOs and LEO supporters.
The co-owners don't make any profit from the site, and have even donated a lot of their own money toward running the site. All the contributions they get from supporting members go toward maintaining and improving the site in response to members' suggestions. None of the Site Staff are paid. They volunteer their time and money to run this site because it's a labor of love for them. They're not rich--they're just regular street cops with families to support. So we, the regular members, need to pitch in to enable them to have enough funds to maintain and keep improving the site.

To me the arcade alone is worth $20 a year. On top of that, if you enjoy this site and you want to see it grow and posper, pitch in!! Running this site is not free and they dont clog it up with a bunch of ads (thank goodness) so help out!

As a recipient of a Supporting Membership from another generous member on this site, I can honestly say that the perks are well worth the money spent. Even if it is just $20.00 . Hopefully I can contribute when my membership is up at the end of the year. This place Rocks!!!
