"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

you and brother and families stay safe. Is brother and APD pulling extra shifts? I know he had said they might, but ADN is saying ash fall is unlikely in Anchorage now. Although the air force has grounded and covered 60 aircraft in anchorage

Be careful. That stuff is nasty. I was working when St. Helen's went off.
Don't drive your POV in it if you can possibly avoid it. That stuff will destroy your engine if much gets in it at all, it's too fine for most air filters.
Hope it calms down quickly. When I used to be somebody (I'm center top)

Well the wind ended up blowing most of it well to our North fortunately. The observatory is anticipating more eruptions, there have been 6 so far. The prevailing winds are changing due to a storm coming in, so if it does go off again we'll probably get some ash...

Well it went off again this morning and the ash is supposed to go over Anchorage, but stay around 30000 feet. Back in 89 the last time it erupted it kept at it for 4 months. Hopefully it won't be as intense this time...
