    CB rants again. Oakland shootings.

I refuse to tarnish the "Officer Down" thread regarding the Oakland, California shootings of four officers by throwing this rant in it, however, I chose to open a new thread here in General Topics detailing my feelings about this incident. I have commented in other areas of the board on similar topics, but my feelings about this particular incident, after reading some of the details of this tragedy were very strong. Strong enough to warrant this post being in the open.

I honestly could care less who reads it, and hope that some reading it might get offended by it, because it is certainly my intention that any who would possibly become offended by what I have to say actually will be.

We've learned that the murderer of four officers in Oakland was (of course) a repeat violent offender, who was on parole at the time of this vicious, senseless, despicable, and depraved act. We've been subjected to reading the lamentations of this bastard's family, all of which tout that this animal (who's name doesn't even bear the worth of repeating), was 'victimized' by the system, and driven to the depths of evil when in fact, "he was trying to better himself"...

Nowhere did I notice any comments from this animal's family relating any sympathy for these men who died protecting Oakland, let alone read any semblance of understanding for the friends and family surviving these officers.

He was sub-human. His death should be listed under public improvments. However, I believe that we should take a longer look at what happened, (and what is seemingly becoming a norm in our society), when a repeat, habitual, violent offender is again allowed to roam freely amongst us. Free to prey, and free to victimize.

Once again, the system we cling to, fight for, and preserve at all costs, has failed. It is broken, and some would say irreparably. The blood of these officers is on the hands of every one of those who was party to his being free in society.

Probation is a joke, and parole is an abomination. Violent offenders, especially, should not be allowed second, third, or fourth chances to prey upon society. I am absolutely sickened by seeing the law-abiding, and law-enforcing citizens of this country victimized by repeat offenders, probationers, and parolees. Our justice system was never intended to be ruled by elitist, ill-concerned, self-righteous professional politicians. These judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys are litigious bastards whose disgusting ethical bankruptcy breeds nothing but further means by which the truly evil and venomous become only numbers on a docket, files in a drawer, or a hindrance to their next golf game.

Each violent crime committed in this country represents victims whose lives have been ended, destroyed, or significantly altered by the actions of a predator. The criminal capacity of the offender, (as demonstrated by past behavior), the sheer intent of the act (as demonstrated by the likely outcome of the offender's actions), the rights of the victim(s) -- past, present, and potential -- and the rights of citizens to live in a free and peaceful society must be weighed.

Damn prison overcrowding; build more. Damn 'standards' and civil rights lawsuits freely brought by society's rejects; don't commit crimes and go to jail. Damn the 'bleeding hearts' who villainize the police and champion the cause of the 'poor', 'ill-adjusted', and 'downtrodden, misunderstood' 'socio-economically challenged' criminals; let those who champion the oppressed realize that crime is the most pervasive oppressor of the free man. Damn anyone who says that enforcing the laws of this country is "un-american", and breaking them makes someone a "patriot". Damn anyone who embraces agenda over simple 'right and wrong'. Damn 'bail-outs', budget bills, and bonuses for executives; secure our streets by protecting our innocent and removing assailants from our midst without recourse. Damn gun-control legislation; put teeth in the laws that exist, and refuse to tolerate predators who ignore our laws anyway.

Citizenship in this country was intended to be a benefit granted to those who, by the contribution of their labors, adherence to its laws, and allegiance to its values, earned the right to enjoy the liberties that were fought for and died for by its real patriots. God may have endowed man with 'certain inalienable rights' guaranteed by our founding documents, but these minions of death, Hell, and destruction have bastardized, polluted, and twisted the rights of the individual into a rampant and seemingly insurmountable intrusion and encroachment upon the lives, peace, and sanctity of the law abiding.

This disgusting erosion of our nation must end. Justice must be re-instated in this country. Citizenship here must be returned to having value and being maintained by adherence to responsibilities. Only then will our 'rights' be recaptured, our fears be alleviated, and our country return to being the 'beacon of liberty' that it once was, rather than the haven of the detestable that it is now.

No one is 'entitled' to live in comfort, luxury, or at the expense of another. Everyone is entitled to reap the rewards of their own labors, not the labors of the more prosperous. We have rewarded failure and penalized success here for far too long. It is time to stop the political pandering and corruption which has grown here like a cancer and now progressively kills the body. We are no longer 'free', people, we are living in terror. In fear of our own government's devices to dictate, rule, and divest us of our livelihoods, and through cases like this one, where our government has failed to provide even the most basic of services, (that being to protect us from the habitual evildoer), we live in fear on the streets of our own hometowns. Who with any shred of common sense at all could believe that government is our 'salvation', when it has been proven time and again that what our government has become is the very protagonist, purveyor, and sponsor of the evils that we fear?

    Another great post CB,

I agree with you on the post, unfortunately I don't foresee this trend ending anytime soon. I believe there are only two ways I think this trend will reverse itself; 1) The Liberals and Lawyers who have created this fiasco admit that they were wrong and begin to reverse this. (Yea I don't think this will happen either.) 2) They figure out a way to blame everyone else in America for what they have done. This might happen sometime an..............I don't know maybe................50 years or so.

I think prisons should be fully self sufficient.

They should be milking cows, churning butter, planting crops, spinning thread and weaving fabric. If they want to watch tv, they can peddle bicycle generators.

I think Spain has the best idea. The families of the prisoners foot the bill for their incarceration.

And CB, I appreciate you creating a separate thread. I prefer the officer down threads stay prayerful and positive. That way, if friends or families view them or perhaps print them it can be a comfort to them, not add to their grief.

PDawg, I believe that what I have stated below might closely resemble what some of the families themselves are feeling. I do not believe that anything I've posted would possibly 'add to their grief', because I'm sure that along with their grief, there grows a righteous indignation. I feign to call it anger, because anger discredits the worth of such emotion. All who wear a badge, and all who recognize that a society is never truly free without order and justice firmly woven into its fabric, should feel both the grief, and the outrage that they feel. These men did not have to die, and had the system they devoted their lives to had functioned properly and responsibly, they wouldn't have.

It is the responsibility of each of us to hear their cries, witness their tears, share their grief, but perhaps more importantly, we must realize that these losses suffered are worthy of our closest scrutinies and undivided attentions. I contest here that our government is culpable. The animal pulled the trigger, but the criminal (in)justice system armed him with the freedom to roam freely amongst his victims. Those who repeatedly prove that they cannot handle the responsibility involved in citizenship and freedom should be permanently divested of both, regardless of cost or pretention. The sacrifices of our honored dead should sound alarms throughout our society, and we as a people should take the offense of the killing of our protectors with the same indignation felt by the closest relation to these officers. They have displayed for us the greatest of all loves, and deserve that we display to them the highest of all honors; our resolve.

Good post CB I'm afraid it's going to get worst before it gets better. The federal courts have ordered CA to release over 50,000 prisoners. If that happens I see crime going way up. As it is now, people don't get sent to prison until they have been convicted of their 3rd or 4th felony.

There will come a time, in the not too distant future, when REAL Americans are going to say enough is enough and they will press the reset button on this country. When they do, atrocities like this will be a thing of the past. One day we will no longer coddle criminals, and punishment will be sure and swift.

This system may very well be the best around but it is indeed broken. I am one of the ones that will say beyond repair. Our entire judicial system revolves around power and money. Votes and dollar signs. If a judge or DA isn't on the take, one or the other or both are turning the criminals out on bullshit paper to save money on a trial or to gain a families support. I see this first hand ALL THE TIME! Reports of slack repeatitive penalites and laughing in the face of justice for all come from all around this country.
Even if a decent person wants to make a grand stand, if they do it on a grand level, even they have to get in bed with the corrupt just to win an election. Not to mention what behind the scenes agenda they may have. Champion one cause and destroy another. Does anyone who can read this really think there is a blanket solution for our problem? There is no way. There isn't that many common thinking people. The ONLY thing stopping a complete melt down, and that's just for now, is us. Period. It will only be as long as we are willing to stand and shovel sand that we will not recede completely into a cess pool. It's the only reason I do what I do.
And as far as hitting the reset button...it may or may not ever happen. If it does, God help us, it may make the other civil war look like a loud verbal altercation.
Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

Countybear, it needed to be said. ......and damn those that get offended by it.

I think we are all sick and tired of these deviant thug animals getting a slap on the hand and told don't do it again. He/she is not a monster. He/she was turning his life around. What a bunch of BS. Maybe we should lock these families in along with them. Charge them for the upkeep of their dear Johnny. Put the Judges and the DA's in there when dear Johnny reoffends. Its their fault for either letting them out early, giving them a reduced sentence, or not putting them away in the first place. Abolish time off for good behavior, too.

The Prison building issue angers me to no end. The "Not In My Backyard" mentality needs to stop, too. We can build skyscrapers but we can't seem to get a handle on the need for prisons. If we can't seem to acquire enough land for a prison to spread out, why can't we build up? Or down? Build an island somewhere and put a prison on it or let them fend for themselves? We had Alcatraz. Didn't Britain do that with Australia? These deviants that will pick any excuse to riot just because the government will come in an repair or replace everything, are no better than the criminals that should be locked up.

As a Christian, the only solace that I have is that these deviant thug animalistic morons will one day go to Hell and Eternal Damnation for the acts that they have committed. They have no interest in repenting. I just wish it was sooner than later for all of them.
