Losing a friend to help a friend . . .
Well, I know this guy who's been a friend since like junior high. He's one of a small handfull of people I've kept in touch with from my hometown, and I see him regularly. He rides around and has always had an interest in LE work. He finally decided to try his hand at it much to the chagrine of his wife of 10+ years.
He got offered a job at a small department, and has to provide his own duty weapon. He came and rode with me last night, and asked if I would sell any of my Glocks to him. He wanted a .45, and I've has a G21 with an M3 on it sitting in my safe for about 2 years now unfired. It looks new. It has been with me during a lot of entries and has been pointed at lots of armed bad guys. It was on my hip as a backup to my long gun when I shot and killed the only person I've ever had to shoot.
He's having problems finding a decent deal on a G21 right now - so I decided to let my old friend go to help out an even older friend. Neither has ever let me down. I hope they treat each other well.
I'm hoping to get to help teach firearms at his upcoming academy class so I can make sure he's treating my baby right and not sullying it's name as an x-ring killer.
And here I thought I wasn't sentimental, but I hate to see it go.

That is the sort of favor that will pay dividends.

That's awesome!
At least you know your friends will be in good company!

Kudos. Good job! I hate to sell guns, and have regretted every sale I've made over the years. But this one is a sale that would be bitter sweet, and I could live with that. At least you can still visit the Glock from time to time.

Talk about misleading title of the day!

For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

Your a good friend.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

You could make it a loner, and tell him to contact Glock directly about getting one of their LEO discounts, if they still have that program.
I found out about it from a dealer when I was buying my G22, and I was told that I could buy it cheaper than the LEO discount that he could give me, but I didn't want to wait a month on delivery.

Awwww, you're a good friend and a nice guy. I'm sure he'll treat your baby well...and if all else fails, you can always buy it back.

Think of it in a good way...you are giving something to a friend that has helped keep you safe for years...and now it will keep him safe. Good for you!

I know it is hard, I have given 2 away. One to one of my brothers so he can use for an academy.
