Pretty much, it basically means your gonna have enough simmunition rounds shot at you that you can officially say your are the gun bitch.

What's not to get?

You're volunteering to be a SWAT target/practice-dummy. Sometimes, it can be fun... most times, it's not.

Expecting that doing so will improve your chances of getting hired is unrealistic. Having an "in" rarely works... even then, only with small departments.

Look, dude... I'm not saying doing SWAT training is bad. Far from it.

Have fun, learn from it. But don't expect that it'll give you a leg-up in getting hired. That's all I'm trying to tell ya.

That is what I dont understand about it Mexican. How can the dept. say they cant hire you because of things we have talked about... but yet they let you do ride a longs like crazy (which policy states once a year) and also let or want you to be a volunteer for SWAT. I dont understand even now what the hell the problem was with hiring you.

I'll second that. As far as getting hired, volunteering for something like this means absolutely nothing..

just kiddin...I'm on our "SWAT" team called SRT...but I still volunteer to get fucked up...just the other day we tried out a new diversionary device(flashbang) and I was in the room to "test" the effects...

When I was in the academy, I let a guys personnel K-9 attack me...

I still go in the clearout tent with the rookies and swat pups...cause I'm stupid like that...

The team sent about 10 of us to be OP-4 for an Army SF detachment a few months ago...we got fucked up bad(note to self, simunitions are very fast when fored from an AR-15...they make you bleed)...fuckers fast roping out of Chinooks and shit...I was scared to death, and I knew I was gonna live...I'd hate to be the enemy...

I was a hostage role player at two SWAT exercises on the other side of the metroplex, one at a farm house and one at the Cinemark movie theater. Both were hostage scenarios.

BOOOORRRRING!!!! Being a civilian and a hostage, they would neither shoot at me (the bad guy just shouted "bang bang" at me, if you can believe that shit), nor would they let me have a gun, nor would they let me beat up any officers. For my own safety they said. I told them I always carry my 9mm with the night sights to the movies so if they wanted realism, they should let me shoot the bad guy with simunition

In another exercise we just all hid and they came looking for us to clear the building - I hid around a blind corner in the Cinemark projector room that I picked because there was a light that cast a shadow so I could see them coming - I had my finger-gun pointed at their faces when they peeked around the corner and I shouted "bang-bang" at them - Scared the shit out of them, but they had me on the floor pretty quick

At the farm house I snatched a revolver out of the bad guy's back pocket when he got too close, and almost ripped his pants off when the hammer got caught so they had to re-start the scenario - For some reason they never asked me back.
