So, What Are Your Vacation Plans This Year?
I've seen a few people post asking about vacation spots and it made me wonder what everyone is doing this summer.
I'm going to be taking some motorcycle trips around Indiana. I love covered bridges and we looked them up online and found that Indiana has alot of them. So, we decided to incorporate our cycle trips with covered bridges. We're starting this weekend by going to Matamora, IN and checking out the one there while siteseeing and hitting the different shops in the area. We've plotted out a few other similar trips that will make it so that I can see my new home state.
In July, we are going to Massachusetts to visit my family for about a week. My sister-in-law is going to join us. Neither she or my husband has ever been to MA so it will be fun taking them around the state. We hope to do day trips to the U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides), Cape Cod, Cape Ann (Gloucester, Rockport, Ipswich area), and hopefully a trip to the White Mountains in NH.
So, what are your plans this summer?
My dad, I miss him every day.

Nothing major here. Can't afford anything huge, so probably a couple of small, two or three day camping trips.

Jake and I just went to South Dakota. We're going to NH for his sisters graduation for about a week. Also plan to do some day trips up to northern Wisconsin as well.
May you rest in peace Daddy and may you never hurt again. I love you and miss you and can't wait to see you again.

I am taking most of the month of June off to go camping, fly fishing, mountain biking, and hiking. We are going to stay close to home in Colorado for the first half of the vacation, and at the end of June we are going to drive to Park City, Utah and hang out there for the 4th of July.
I am also hoping to make a trip to Louisiana to visit the family later in the summer. What if the Hokey Pokey is what it really is all about?

Gonna stay home and work on the house...also help Maclean with his yard (which is a disaster after construction) and probably take one trip to the ocean (Ocean Shores) to help an old friend.
Got the money but not the inclination. Maybe I will buy a ride around lawn mower.

Rome, Italy in October. We're attending the canonization of Father Damien de Veuster with our two oldest kids. Blessed Damien was a Roman Catholic missionary who helped lepers on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. Our oldest son is named after him.

I'm going to southern California, to Santa Fe, a few days at a rental house in Hague VA, Las Vegas (in October), and I'll make at least one trip home to MI before the summer is over. Then in January I'm going on a cruise.

No real vacation away this year. Still plenty of new things to explore in Colorado so that will keep us busy. Saving up my vacation time (not much since I just started here) to take about a month off after the baby is born.

Who needs to go on a summer vacation when you live in Minnesota? I'll spend some weekends at a few of our 12,000+ lakes and do some boating and fishing. I'm taking a road trip in June to Chicago to visit my sisters and nephews and take in a Twins game at Wrigley Field, but I don't consider it a vacation since I go there every 2-3 months anyways.

If all goes well and if family cooperates in the ride dept, sometime next month Kittylynn and I will be going to her family reunion in Virginia City, NV. Trying to pick a spot that is central to families in UT, WA and CA is not easy. Then in July sometime we may be taking some time to go and spend some time with her immediate family in the SLC - Provo - Orem UT area. Might ride the Amtrak for that one. I can get the time off of work, no problem. In fact they have told me that I need to take some time off anyways because there is a cap on how much vacation time I can accumulate or I will lose it by the end of December.
