Skimboarding?
So I'm going to the beach with the family soon. I have always wanted to skimboard. Every time we go to the beach I watch the "Young" people skimboarding up and down the beach.
So I decided to purchase a skimboard. I have never tried this so I figure I will either catch on or break an ankle.
Does anyone here skimboard? Any tips?

I used to try it when I was a kid. We didn't have skimboards so we made do with what we could find. It was fun up until your board went into the sand and you went flying off

I did it when I was out in California years ago. It's a good time, just make sure you start off slow and get the feel of it down before going balls out. I watched one guy fail terribly about 10 times in a row a couple weekends ago before finally quitting!

I did it when I was a kid. It was fun and easy. I tried it as an adult and nearly broke my neck. Not so much fun any more.

180 miles from the nearest beach and I found a whole stack of those for sale at Hudson's Salvage the other day. It looks like a real quick trip to the hospital to me.

Well after 3 days I have not broken anything. Today I had a 12 year old giving me lessons. I can ride without falling about 50% of the time. Just carrying the skim board gets you lots of looks. Maybe I should just walk up and down the beach with it.
