12 hour shifts
I got off at 1600 monday and I don't have to be back to work until 1400 next monday. Next monday if when we start 12 hour shifts. We'll be on 7p-7a for the month of April. We rotate to 7a-7p after 4 weeks. It will be the schedule where we get every other weekend off. I'm excited to go to the new schedule.
They wanted someone to do a "power shift" on nights. That shift runs from 2p-2a. No one on my shift was eager to do that so I volunteered. The hours will be kinda odd. But we'll see how it goes.
I can't wait until we get every other weekend off. I know 12's will be a long shift but I think it will better.

Glad you're happy about the new schedule, it would sure suck if you got switched and were really unhappy about it.
What is the purpose behind the "power shift" hours?

I love the 12 hour DuPont schedule. 12's are nice, but a week off once a month is nicer.

I work twelves, 5 on, 4 off, 1 training day. No night/day rotation. However, our 'training day' isn't always used, so often we end up 5/5 which is pretty tight.

I love the 12 hr shifts. Having every other weekend off is great. My buddy works 8s... gets tue and wed off. He has to burn vacation time to get a weekend off.

All I every worked were 4 - 10's. You would have the same shift & days off for a year. Very rarely heard any complaints except from rookies who felt they should have weekends off before they had earned them.

I like 12's. Every other weekend off, plenty of day's off. Night shift will mess with you though.
