Small Favor I would like to ask of each of you.
On 01/09/1987, my agency lost Deputy Sheriff T.A. Burnham in the line of duty. Shot and killed by Paul Beasley Johnson after committing a few other murders. He was sentenced to death at the time, and has had two different JURY TRIALS since then, where he was again convicted by a jury and sentenced to death.
Today, his sorry @ss still sits on death row, with our govenor unwilling to sign the death warrant for some unknown reason. He's been sitting up there longer than the deputy was allowed to live.
Our agency has undertaken a letter writting campaign and a petition campaign to have this killer executed. Our PIO was able to create an electronic petition that anyone can now sign and it will be viewed by the govenor.
If possible, I would like for as many of you as possible to sign the petition if you feel so inclined, and pass it around to friends/family/coworkers to have them sign as well.

This guy's date with the needle has been LONG overdue.

WTF is the appeal all about? He's had 20 years to appeal the case. And why has that been pending since 2008?However, it is unclear if the execution will be carried out because an appeal filed June 27, 2008, is pending before the Florida Supreme Court.
Let's hope the Supreme Court expedites the case, if it's just a matter of scheduling the docket.
