New Rules for Veteran's Day
BLACKFIVE: Veterans Day - Part 1 - We Start With the Late Great Mike Royko
Read the original article for more.- Anyone caught posing as a veteran will be required to eat a triple portion of chipped beef on toast, with Spam on the side, and spend the day watching a chaplain present a color-slide presentation on the horrors of VD.
- Regardless of how high his office, no politician who had the opportunity to serve in the military, but didn’t, will be allowed to make a patriotic speech, appear on TV, or poke his nose out of his office for the entire day. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.
If I lived every day like it was my last, the body count would be staggering.
I intend to go in harm's way. -John Paul Jones
Hunt the wolf, and bring light to the dark places that others fear to go. LT COL Dave Grossman
I'd be a better people person if I was around better people.

Good, another reason not to have to listen to Obama.
As a federal employee I have the day off but I will be spending some of it with some friends of mine who are Veterans. It's the least I can do.

I would like my country back. I used to believe that one man could never destroy this country. Not so sure anymore!

I like the second sentence taht Xiphos posted...seems logical to me.Never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way" ~Martin Luther King, Jr

I'm not a Veteran but I sure was welcomed into their circle and specifically sought out and thanked by a soldier (he saw my company lettered shirt) currently serving in the war that was on leave from 'Stan on account of what the organization that I work for does for the Military.
The Patriot Guard was there, too. Awesome!!!
Applebee's was great. A Veteran friend of mine really wanted to go there as he had never been before. I mentioned to him that I had fallen on hard times and had no cash available. I helped him out one day when nobody else would. I should have been paying for his meal. But yet, he paid for my wife's and mine. Applebee's took one look at my Work ID and gave us the discount, too. I was not expecting this at all and am grateful for it.
One Veteran friend took us to visit another Veteran friend and to the restaurant and another Veteran friend that we met there at the restaurant drove us home.
I did not wear my company shirt to get a free meal. I wore it to show my support to our Veterans for all that they do and have done for our great country.
Thank You Veterans, AAFES, Applebee's, and my fellow LDS Church members for a wonderful day!!!
I also wish to Thank my Heavenly Father for allowing this to happen. Without HIM, none of this would have been possible.
