Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum at Dulles
I'm going there with my kids in the morning. I know they have security screening now. Anyone know if they let in armed cops with creds or should I risk leaving it in the trunk?

I'm guessing I'm a little late -- but I've carried there, without so much as a blip.

I'm pretty sure this is the place we visited once on a trip to police week. No problems. If I remember correctly we checked in with security as we entered and signed in as armed officers. That was it.

Very police friendly, thank you for the info. We had no problem getting in and out with me armed. They were quite solicitous and didn't blink when I badged them. I didn't want to try it if they were going to hassle me over it but it was a very pleasant experience. They were much smarter than the TSA. They just waved my kids through. The TSA would have searched them and confiscated the pen in my daughter's pocket, even though I was armed.

Yeah, TSA hasn't impressed me. My wife recently took our infant son to visit her family, which involved a plane trip. (He did great, FYI) But... silly me, I figure that maybe I can go so far as the actual security screen with her to handle the kid, etc. while she's going through. So I badge the guy; he doesn't have a frigging clue what the badge was! OK... I don't hold it against him that he held to the rules... but the whole "what is that?" thing... That's moronic!
Just like the idiots who scanned my badge in the x-ray machine one time, and had to stop everything to make sure it wasn't a throwing star...Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.
